Family Flooring & Renovations

About Family Flooring & Renovations

Based in Middlebury, CT, Family Flooring & Renovations works as a hardwood flooring contractor. A team of 4, the business has been operating for 11 years. Homeowners choose between solid hardwood, which can be sanded many times, and engineered boards, which handle basements and concrete slabs better. The installer helps match product to the space, lets the wood acclimate inside the home, and plans layouts that avoid awkward slivers at doorways and hallways.

Typical jobs for hardwood floor installation in Middlebury include wide-plank flooring, solid oak plank installation, subfloor leveling, stair tread and riser installation and engineered hardwood over concrete.

Squeaky or uneven subfloors, water-damaged sections, or a remodel that opens up walls between rooms are common triggers for new hardwood installation. Provide square footage for each room, the current flooring type, and whether stairs are included. Note if the floor sits on a concrete slab or a wood subfloor. Wood species, plank width, and solid versus engineered construction set the material cost. Subfloor repair, stairs, and pattern layouts like herringbone add labor.
