About Gordon home improvement

Based in Marietta, GA, Gordon home improvement works as a hardwood floor installer. A team of 2, the business has been operating for 7 years. Hardwood installation starts with checking the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then laying underlayment and planks in the right direction for the room. Boards are nailed, glued, or floated depending on the product, and trim is set last to cover the expansion gaps left along the walls.

Common requests for hardwood floor installation include herringbone pattern floors, engineered hardwood over concrete, stair tread and riser installation, wide-plank flooring and transition strips and thresholds.

Worn carpet, damaged laminate, or a planned sale often prompts a switch to hardwood, especially in living rooms, hallways, and bedrooms that see daily foot traffic. Share the target timeline, any known squeaks or soft spots, and how rooms connect so transitions to tile, vinyl, or carpet can be planned ahead of time. Wood species, plank width, and solid versus engineered construction set the material cost. Subfloor repair, stairs, and pattern layouts like herringbone add labor.
