About Marcus

Marcus provides hardwood floor installation in Saint Joseph, MO. The business has been operating for 21 years with a team of 2. Hardwood installation starts with checking the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then laying underlayment and planks in the right direction for the room. Boards are nailed, glued, or floated depending on the product, and trim is set last to cover the expansion gaps left along the walls.

Common requests for hardwood floor installation include old carpet removal before install, floating hardwood floors, engineered hardwood over concrete, solid oak plank installation and transition strips and thresholds. Marcus is also listed for cabinet installation, finish carpentry, handyman and interior painting.

Squeaky or uneven subfloors, water-damaged sections, or a remodel that opens up walls between rooms are common triggers for new hardwood installation. Photos of each room, the chosen wood species or product, and whether furniture moving and old floor removal are needed help an installer quote accurately. Wood species, plank width, and solid versus engineered construction set the material cost. Subfloor repair, stairs, and pattern layouts like herringbone add labor.

Accepted payment methods include Apple Pay, Cash, Check, Credit card, Google Pay and PayPal. To get started, send Marcus a request on Fixerlane with the details of your project.
