About Shawdy
Shawdy is a hardwood flooring contractor serving Anchorage, AK. The business has been operating for 8 years with a team of 2. Hardwood installation starts with checking the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then laying underlayment and planks in the right direction for the room. Boards are nailed, glued, or floated depending on the product, and trim is set last to cover the expansion gaps left along the walls.
Common requests for hardwood floor installation include subfloor leveling, unfinished floors finished on site, baseboard and shoe molding reinstall, floating hardwood floors and stair tread and riser installation. Shawdy is also listed for hardwood floor refinishing.
Allergies, pets, or a desire for a floor that can be sanded and refinished later lead many homeowners to replace soft flooring with real wood. Provide square footage for each room, the current flooring type, and whether stairs are included. Note if the floor sits on a concrete slab or a wood subfloor. Removal and disposal of old flooring, furniture moving, and trim work affect the total, along with the number of rooms, closets, and cuts involved.
