About Smith’s Custom Floors & More

Smith’s Custom Floors & More provides hardwood floor installation in Summerfield, FL. A team of 3, the business has been operating for 6 years. Hardwood installation starts with checking the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then laying underlayment and planks in the right direction for the room. Boards are nailed, glued, or floated depending on the product, and trim is set last to cover the expansion gaps left along the walls.

Common requests for hardwood floor installation include stair tread and riser installation, subfloor leveling, solid oak plank installation, baseboard and shoe molding reinstall and floating hardwood floors. Smith’s Custom Floors & More is also listed for carpet installation.

Squeaky or uneven subfloors, water-damaged sections, or a remodel that opens up walls between rooms are common triggers for new hardwood installation. Photos of each room, the chosen wood species or product, and whether furniture moving and old floor removal are needed help an installer quote accurately. Removal and disposal of old flooring, furniture moving, and trim work affect the total, along with the number of rooms, closets, and cuts involved.
