Tamas & Son Flooring

About Tamas & Son Flooring

Tamas & Son Flooring is a floor refinishing contractor serving Newport, RI. The business has been operating for 41 years with a team of 4. Before any sanding in Newport, furniture comes out, adjoining rooms are sealed off, and dust containment goes up. After sanding and vacuuming, stain and finish coats go down with drying between each, and the rooms stay off limits until the finish has cured.

Common requests for hardwood floor refinishing include buffing out surface scratches, pet stain board replacement, buff and recoat, stain color change and gap filling between boards.

Gray or bare spots in traffic areas, deep scratches, and a finish that no longer repels water are common signs floors need refinishing. Share the square footage of each room, photos of the worn areas, and whether stairs or landings are included in the project. Buff and recoat jobs cost less than full sanding, while color changes, pet stain repairs, and furniture moving add to the total.
