Upstate Tile and Stone

About Upstate Tile and Stone

Based in Simpsonville, SC, Upstate Tile and Stone works as a hardwood floor installer. A team of 2, the business has been operating for 4 years. Hardwood installation starts with checking the subfloor for flatness and moisture, then laying underlayment and planks in the right direction for the room. Boards are nailed, glued, or floated depending on the product, and trim is set last to cover the expansion gaps left along the walls.

Common requests for hardwood floor installation include wide-plank flooring, stair tread and riser installation, unfinished floors finished on site, nail-down floors over plywood subfloors and herringbone pattern floors.

Squeaky or uneven subfloors, water-damaged sections, or a remodel that opens up walls between rooms are common triggers for new hardwood installation. Provide square footage for each room, the current flooring type, and whether stairs are included. Note if the floor sits on a concrete slab or a wood subfloor. Wood species, plank width, and solid versus engineered construction set the material cost. Subfloor repair, stairs, and pattern layouts like herringbone add labor.
