Why there is no single price
Plenty of sites will give you a national average for pest control. We do not, because within this trade the work varies so widely that an average is wrong for almost every actual job — it flatters the big jobs and alarms the small ones.
The number that matters is the one a pro gives you after seeing your job. What is useful beforehand is understanding the variables they are pricing on, because that is what lets you brief them properly and compare what comes back.

How pros quote
Fixed price
The scope is clear enough to put a number on the whole job. The risk of it running long sits with the pro, which is why they will want the scope pinned down first.
Hourly or day rate
Used where nobody yet knows what is wrong, or the work is open-ended. Fair for diagnosis; a warning sign on a job that could have been specified.
Per unit
Priced by square foot, per fixture, per window. Easy to compare between pros — as long as you check what a "unit" includes.
Call-out plus work
A fixed fee to attend, then the job on top. Common for emergency and repair work. Ask whether the call-out comes off the final bill.
Comparing quotes fairly
Two quotes are only comparable if they cover the same job. Before you judge on price, check each one states:
- The scope, in plain words rather than a trade shorthand
- Which materials are included, and who supplies them
- Whether disposal and clean-up are in the price
- Making good afterwards — patching, painting, reinstating
- The payment schedule, tied to visible milestones
- A start date and a realistic finish window
- What happens if something unexpected is found
A quote well below the others is usually a smaller job, not a better deal. Ask what it excludes before assuming it is the bargain.

- What should a written quote include?
- The scope in plain words, what materials are included and who supplies them, disposal and making good afterwards, the payment schedule, and a start and finish window. If any of those are missing, the price is provisional whatever it says.
